Tecnologias emergentes para gestão de águas pluviais em Rhode Island: Filtros à base de águas-vivas

This webinar will provide an overview on the process of selecting and designing a proprietary stormwater treatment device for permitting in Rhode Island, with a focus on the Jellyfish Filter.  Although this training is specific to RI, the information that will be presented is extremely valuable and relevant for all designers, reviewers, and municipalities interested in learning about implementing proprietary stormwater treatment devices to meet water quality goals and/or TMDL requirements on challenging sites.

Brian Byrnes of the Providence Parks Department will discuss the initial conceptual designs for implementing a Jellyfish Filter in Roger Williams Park for water quality improvements and as a training site for hands-on maintenance education.  A representative from Contech Engineered Solutions will go over what the Jellyfish Filter is, how it works, how to determine what size device is needed; along with other design limitations, best practices, maintenance considerations and more.   Additionally, Jan Greenwood, P.E. from Woodard & Curran and Brian Giroux, P.E. of DiPrete Engineering will each provide an account of individual case studies where they designed a RIDEM project which utilized Jellyfish Filters.   RIDEM staff will also provide a description of their process for certifying new proprietary stormwater treatment devices.
