About the Event
Our first volunteer cyanobacteria monitoring day will be Friday August 28th at 9:00 am. We monitoring potential cyanobacteria blooms using BloomWatch and the Cyanoscope. We have also acquired kits to collect samples that will be analyzed by EPA for harmful toxins in the water. We will meet at the Seal House in Roger Williams Park, then collect samples at Roosevelt Lake, Polo Lake, and Pleasure Lake. Scientists from The Nature Conservancy and JWU will lead the sampling event and provide training on the sample collection and data upload process. If you have questions, please contact Ryan Kopp at rkopp@asri.org
