Roger Williams Park Watershed Walk

ABOUT

The Roger Williams Park StoryWalk is a collaborative project between the Stormwater Innovation Center, the City of Providence Parks Department, and the Rhode Island community. In 2025, community members shared stories and artwork inspired by the park’s ecosystem. These contributions were combined with history and science to create six interpretive signs placed along park trails, as well as a digital archive featuring additional resources and submissions on the Stormwater Innovation Center’s website.

The StoryWalk invites visitors to explore the park through the lenses of watersheds, history, ecology, and environmental stewardship, supporting both the Stormwater Innovation Center’s mission and the Parks Department’s strategic plan. This project was made possible through funding from the Narragansett Bay Estuary Program and the City of Providence.
