STORMWATER 101 TRAINING

Description:

This is an introductory training appropriate for community members in Massachusetts and Rhode Island interested in green stormwater infrastructure. The training will provide an overview of green stormwater infrastructure, as well as a discussion of system nomenclature, performance and suitability for implementation considerations. This training is a precursor to other trainings offered by the network and center.

Objectives:

This training will improve your ability to understand and review the essential mechanism of stormwater control measure performance and effectiveness.

James Houle

Director of the Stormwater Center – University of New Hampshire

Ph.D in Natural Resources and Environmental Science
Over twenty years of experience with water quality related issues in New England
Certified professional in storm water quality (CPSWQ) and a certified professional in erosion and sediment control (CPESC).
Directs and manages research projects at UNH Stormwater Center
Areas of expertise include diffusion of innovative stormwater management solutions, the design and implementation of innovative stormwater control measures including green infrastructure (GI), and low impact development (LID) strategies, planning and implementation, operation and maintenance, and water resource monitoring.
